Security Monitors come in a variety of resolutions in both black & white and color. The quality of security cameras you are using will usually determine the type of monitor you need - i.e. a color monitor used with b&w cameras is pointless.

Security Monitors can display multiple camera images at the same time or rotate from camera to camera. Some feature remote viewing and control from a PC. Typically they come with auxillary inputs for analog video and a secondary monitor output connection. Standard monitors are usually more powerful, but flat screen versions take up less space and can be mounted to the wall. A good monitor provides power to the cameras and receives both video and audio.
